WooCommerce

WooCommerce is a plugin which transforms WordPress websites into customisable e-commerce stores. In this document, we provide an overview of the open source plugin developed in-house by Elavon, which allows our customers to process payments through Converge.

Our objective is to simplify the integration process for our customers so they can process payments through Converge, which in turn will expand the reach of the Converge platform and will set the stage for more growth to our customer base.

Target Audience

The target audiences are the internal technical teams who are dedicated to providing support for Converge. However, the first few pages will provide readers with an understanding of what a plugin is, its scope and objectives and how it fits within the overall e-commerce strategy.

Scope of this document

This guide focuses on the installation, configuration and utilisation of the Converge WooCommerce plugin. This refers to a customer installation whereby they have a new or existing WordPress websites (managed and controlled by the customer on an external server or via a hosting service) and they wish to extends its payment capability by utilising the converge plugin.

This document aims to:

  • Educate readers on the installation steps and to show how each feature can be utilised
  • Provide guidance to support personnel on how to install, configure and support the use of the plugin
  • Raise awareness and understanding of the in-house development efforts for open source shopping carts
