This section gives examples of screen displays that should be used on the POI solution for DCC transactions:
The exact display requirements depend on whether the solution is attended or unattended.
The default language displayed for the consumer should be English unless the consumers’ local language is supported. The size of the screen display will impact the amount of data that can be displayed and as a result different options may be acceptable.
Attended Screens
The customer must be able to provide all the information required to the consumer before they make the choice to opt-in, or out of DCC. A “Print Quote” option is needed if the consumer facing screen does not have the space to display it all.
The Print Quote feature prints the receipt for handing to the consumer to support their making a choice.
At a minimum, the consumer screen must display:
- The Base Currency amount displayed using the correct currency symbol or ISO code (e.g. € or EUR).
- The Cardholder Currency amount displayed using the correct currency symbol or ISO code (e.g. € or EUR).
- The Exchange Rate shown as a ratio.
- One of the following:
- The Mark-up percentage over ECB.
- The standard Mark-up percentage.
Attended Example Screens
The POI solution should display as much information as fits on its screen while still legible.
